New at Orca: something from the Vonnegut archives, fiction from Alaska

Now in paperback: While Mortals Sleep brings together some previously unpublished short fiction by the late Kurt Vonnegut. The ubiquitous Dave Eggers has penned a foreword.... Eowyn Ivey, a bookseller at Fireside Books in Palmer, Alaska, has added a volume of her own to the shelves. The Snow Child is a novel with fairy tale undertones set in 1920s Alaska. Jack and Mabel are a homesteading couple who desperately want a child of thewir own. For a lark, they build one out of snow. Come morning, their snow child has disappeared. Soon after, a strange little girl accompanied by a red fox shows up at their doorstep...
